Thank you for selecting Lorraine Rimson, Attorney for unbundled legal services to prepare the legal documents necessary for your uncontested divorce, as offered through www.washingtondivorceservice.com (“website”). Our Agreement to assist you begins when you accept this Agreement for Limited Legal Services (“Service Agreement”), and we have received payment of your fee through the website by way of a credit card. This Agreement will end after we have prepared your Washington Petition for Dissolution and the related uncontested divorce documents necessary for you to complete your agreed, uncontested divorce, or provide any other services that you have purchased, or service is canceled as limited by our mutual promises of this Agreement.
- Object of Representation: The object of the unbundled legal services is to provide you with professionally prepared documents, known as ghostwriting. In addition to the ghostwriting, the attorney provides limited legal advice as necessary to prepare your divorce documents to reflect your agreements with your spouse. All documents are prepared based solely on the information you provide to us. You may file the documents we provide to you with the court pro se to obtain an uncontested divorce in Washington State. The limited scope of this service is document preparation as permitted by the Washington State Rules of Professional Conduct. No attorney will file your completed documents with the court or file an appearance with the court on your behalf.
- Fees: For a total website fee of $195.00 or two payments of $99.00, a duly licensed Washington State attorney will prepare the documents necessary for you to file and finalize an uncontested divorce in Washington State. This base, flat fee service price is only available through the website and is subject to your adherence to this Agreement and the website’s terms of use.
- Limited Advice: Any legal advice provided in conjunction with the unbundled, ghostwriting service is limited to questions and/or issues that need to be addressed to prepare your documents properly. If additional advice is needed and falls outside the scope of this limited offering and/or your situation materially changes, an additional fee would be required; however, it is more likely that the additional services would not be available through this service.
- Limitations of Service: You are making no commitment to use our services at any time in the future. We have not agreed to represent you. This, among other things, means that we will not file any notice of appearance with any court, we will not go to a hearing in person or by telephone, we will not go with you to any court hearing or trial, we will not prepare your case for trial or provide any legal assistance other than the limited legal services listed above in the Objective of Representation which describes the particular service that you are purchasing. We have no further obligation to you after completing the task that you purchased.
- Filing: If we prepare a document for you, such as a Petition for Divorce, and it requires filing procedures, you hereby agree to take responsibility for having the document filed properly and comply with all legal procedures according to the instructions that we provide to you. We do not promise or guarantee any particular outcome. You may opt to have your case e-filed for you as outlined in item 12 below.
- Filing Fees/Court Costs: You are responsible for paying all court fees and costs required by the court for the filing and completion of your divorce. Our service fee does not include any court mandated filing fee or court cost.
- No Attorney-Client Relationship: By affirmatively accepting this Agreement, no attorney-client relationship is created. All that has been created is an agreement that, through unbundled services, a licensed Washington State attorney will be ghostwriting your divorce documents based upon the agreements you and your spouse have made.
- Authorization: You have read, understand, and agree to be bound by the above. You agree to provide the information necessary to complete all paperwork necessary for your uncontested, agreed Washington State divorce, and you authorize the attorney to prepare your legal documents based solely on the information you provide. You also agree that the attorney can request additional information, if needed, if the attorney determines that certain necessary information that is needed for the completion of the divorce is missing.
- Service Cancellation: We reserve the right to cancel if your situation or circumstances do not qualify for our limited service or you fail to adhere to the website’s terms of service or the terms of this service agreement at any time and for any reason.
- Refunds: You understand that once you have been approved for the service, accept the service, and we have provided any services to you, our fees are non-refundable, based on our Service Guarantee as found on www.washingtondivorceservices.com.
- Optional Service (E-Filing): For a service fee of $75, members of our team can file your documents with the court. As permitted by the court, this administrative task will not be completed by an attorney. This will be handled through regular mail filings or electronic filings as determined by the court. The court mandated filing fee and any convenience fee required by the court must be paid prior to the filing of your documents with the court. You understand that the $75 service fee is paid to us, and the court filing fees are paid to the court. These fees cannot be paid via credit card; payment can only be made via Zelle or money order.
- Optional Service (Case Status): You understand that it is possible that the court may request additional information to finalize your case. If you do not use our service to E-file your case and you self-file and your case is held up for any reason, there will be a $100 fee for our team to contact the court to determine the status of your case and report to you what else is needed.
- Optional Service (Virtual Divorce Expedited): You can securely sign and notarize your documents online for a fee of $176 or $88 per spouse. These services are not provided by an attorney, but rather Virtual Divorce and its commissioned electronic notaries. You are not required to use this additional expedited service. Virtual Divorce is simply offered as a convenience.
- Credit Card Fee Explanation: All credit card payments made through our secure checkout portal incur a non-refundable convenience fee of five dollars ($5). This fee helps offset the costs associated with providing a fast, reliable, and secure payment platform. By choosing this payment method, you acknowledge that the convenience fee will be added to your total payment amount, separate from any legal fees or other charges outlined in this agreement. If you prefer not to pay this fee, please contact us for information about alternative payment methods.
